This calculator is a calendar aid for people who need a quick view of tax-year timing across common jurisdictions. It shows the active tax year, how far through that year you are, and countdowns to selected public deadlines from official revenue authority guidance. It does not decide whether you must file, what forms apply, whether an extension is valid, or how much tax you owe.
Tax deadlines can move when a date falls on a weekend or public holiday, and special rules may apply for disasters, military service, tax agents, audits, company structures, trusts, non-residents, amended returns, and local administrative relief. Filing and payment can also be separate obligations: an extension to file may not extend the time to pay, and estimated or advance payments may still be due during the year.
The selected deadlines are intentionally narrow: individual filing dates, common self-assessment dates, estimated payments, audit-report dates, and basic payment dates that are useful for personal planning. They do not cover every form, business entity, payroll filing, sales tax, GST, VAT, state tax, penalty notice, or withholding deposit. Use the countdowns for general planning, reminders, and workload scheduling only. Always check with your accountant, bookkeeper, payroll provider, or the relevant revenue authority: the IRS for the United States, HMRC on GOV.UK for the United Kingdom, the Income Tax Department for India, and the Australian Taxation Office for Australia. Personal tax facts change the answer, and official guidance should control.
